Swirling downstream
Vestiges of winter rapidly disappear
Ice crushed on rocks and shore
Pummeled into crystal shards
Floating on the rapidly melting ice
Deafening sounds as the mighty river roars
Into the new season
Soon there will be a quiet rippling sound
As tepid water undulates over obstacles
The wild river tamed by Nature's returning spring
Will lure fishermen as they lure their prey
Icy grey water turned brilliant blue by the sun
Wildflowers springing to life on the banks
Small creatures quench their thirst
Spring at last!
