The wind through the trees
Sings a song of sad lament
The summer's gone too fast
Fun days are almost spent
The leaves of red and yellow
Are scattered o'er the land
In piles of simple beauty
The way God has it planned
The sky deep blue and brilliant
The clouds so high and white
Beckoning the winds of Autumn
When days are short of light
The children cry in wonder
At the pumpkins carved and lit
They gather all their costumes
For the night just made for it
We change the pastel colors
Apparent in all our clothes
We get out the wool and leather
Cover bare legs with nice warm hose
Cooler winds are blowing
Leaves are fluttering down
Dressed in our finest costumes
We parade in groups through town
Trick or Treat
