In the forest, there are trees.
And woodland creatures abound.
In the spring, a tender breeze.
But now the snow muffles all sound.
How bare the branches and the limbs.
As the sun sets you can see.
Skeletons of summer as the light dims.
And now the wind blows chilly.
But I will await yet another spring
When the green begins to unfold.
And the shadows are another thing
As leaves become thick and bold.
Now covered with a blanket of white,
They doze and even sleep.
Mother Nature isn't ready quite..
Her promises to keep.
