A Winter Portrait
Lonely soldiers, gaunt, scrawny
Guardians of the gloom
Stand embarrassed there undressed
In the glare of half-lit moon
Ballerina thin they
Arabesque in frozen poses
Wicked winds, arthritic limbs
Dance to Winter's tune.
