An old pair of shoes remained behind
After the company had gone home
They just sit by the patio door
No longer on feet waiting to roam


Who had forgotten them when they left
Will their owner miss them or not
They are old and could so be replaced
New ones could be bought where they were got


An old pair of shoes just tossed aside
Left behind and that is a sad fact
Shoes wondering if owners want them
Will those careless packers come on back


Waiting by the patio door way
Those old shoes look so sad and forlorn
They've traveled on feet walking quite far
Looking so shabby and very worn
